Cadillac V8 Series 355 Phaeton was conceived during the devastating times of the Great Depression. The car was a successor of the Series 353 and shared some of its technical merits with the Cadillac V16 Series 452 flagship. Cadillac V8 Series 355 used the same engine as its predecessor, but received a redesigned frame making the car longer and lower.
