An alright car for its price
The car might be a deceint car to lease but not really worth buying. Its not as fast as they make it seem. Doesnt seem like a reliable car. Had it for about 5 days before I returned mine. Not a car I would buy. I just rented it
fun to drive for a great price
Pros: well priced for an average person that loves to drive. handles great, speed response, no need to say
Cons: gas mileage is ok. seats are not comfortable and has lots of blind spots.
This is a fun car to drive. the turbo makes it interesting. handles great and there are very few things that I dislike personally. for 2008 the model looks much better (I think).
Speeds up when in need and it is small enough to sneak by in rush hour traffic.
love to drive it even when bumper to bumper. the fully loaded with Nav is great. I don’t like the fact that while you drive you can’t look at some things on the screen and/or DVD. why even have that feature when you can’t watch?
STi without a doubt.
Pros: a lot of car for your money (AWD = nice!)
Cons: weak transmissions, & doors/trunk feel cheap/light/flimsy
I cant agree more that the standard WRX transmsissions are junk if you ever plan to modify the car at all. just start with an STi even if you have to buy a used one. I just bought a used ‘04 STi and am amazed at how much more performance this offers compared to the WRX. On the STi everything is better (HIDs, steering, suspension, brakes, exhaust, motor, trans, etc) and its hard to believe they start out from the same chassis, just incredible, the STi is miles ahead of the WRX! Its sad to see the new WRX keeping in the tradition of weak transmissions… I hope they have used more STi parts on the new WRX, not sure whats brogut over besides the 2.5L motor, maybe the quick ratio stering rack? And I think the redesign of the Impreza is hideous, I’m sure it will grow on me over time but man it looks horrible, especially on skinny little econo-tires, yuck. Hope we get the new STi in the 5-door trim, that will sell like hotcakes here in the US.
Subaru is gone
Pros: I now look like a hatch and a corolla
Cons: Subaru is dead
Looks like a hatch and a corolla. Looks like the marketing dept is trying to experiment because it cannot keep up with the EVO
my wrx
Pros: good performance, very good acceleration, good brakes
Cons: ride is too tough, its not very good looking
i love how it feel to ride this car, the ride is too tough, but it makes up for it with great acceleration and great engine noise, as well as 4 wheel drive, so it has great handling
WRx or Speed3
Pros: ADW, turbo, good looking
Cons: turbo lag, intial drag time, un enthusiatic interior
I am a great Subie fan ever since they won the FIA world rally championship. My previous car was the Mazdaspeed3 which is fast but I feel will not take this car at the turns. Somehow, the WRX is slower than the Speed3 from 0-60 but make a turn and wrx blows the mazda away.
I also feel the WRX is more comfortable but the interior is more ugly than the Mazdasp3.
Since I live in Canada, give us some snow, and miserable Canadian winter, and the WRX laughs all the way home.
Cost is high, a bit more than the Mazdasp3 but if you have a family and want some thrills on the weekend, this car meet the bill.
Leave the Speed 3 for the youngsters.
Crash test also puts confidence in this car.
Even Better Than The 2007
Pros: Fast, good-looking, good fuel economy
Cons: None so far
The 2008 WRX sedan is roomier than the 2007, but is just as quick and handles better. EPA gas mileage on the sticker looks worse than in 2007, yet this time it understates reality. I’m getting 24.5 mpg within the first 1,000 miles, without much freeway driving. It’s hard to find a flaw so far. Great car, great value.
